Calendars & mittens

Top photo, this years calendar - november illustration.
Bottom photo: traditional patterns for Latvian mittens.

Do you also get this annoying hole in your mittens thumb from biking? I hold the handle in a way that rubs the inner thumb. Whaaat? All my beautiful latvian mittens have holes in their thumbs.
And then I'm just to lazy to patch them so I stop using them. Or sometimes I use them with an inner glove. These are grand problems.

I've been at my new job for 2,5 weeks now. It's strange changing environment like that, with just a few days between my new and old job. It felt really weird at first. But now I'm getting used to the new environment and things feel better. Today I was in the forest all day for a photoshoot, it's pretty there now. The birch trees are so purple when you see them all together. And the green mossy glades don't disappear during the winter months :)

First snow

Yesterday we woke up to the first snow this winter. As always it went from being grey to being VERY PRETTY. Today it's all wet though and utterly icky outside. But we had one day at least :)

Posters by Lotta Olsson

Lottas Träd by Lotta Olsson

I saw these picture some time go and I immediately though "WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS??".
I just think they're so perfect. If I'd buy a poster I'd definitely get one of these :)

November isn't grey in Haväng

Last weekend me and Robert made a road trip to the east side of Skåne. First we visited this little waterfall but later we drove to Haväng. It was such a beautiful afternoon. No wind and the beach was almost empty. We went into the pineforest that's alongside the beach... and everything was still so green and you couldn't feel that it was november. Then two girls came riding through the forest on pretty brown horses and the hooves mades these calming muffled sounds when galloping on the moss.
Every time I've visited Haväng it's been so magical.

Silhouette illustrations for M.A.T.

Since City Cross new food store M.A.T. has opened this wednesday I thought it might be ok that I show the parts were I've been involved. My former workplace was in charge of most of the creative shaping of this store. I got kicked into the project almost at the end and was asked to make the illustrations for fruits and veggies, meats, family- and dog parking etc. They wanted a rough sprayed silhouette style. Might not be much from my personal style but it's still cool to see it in the actual store.

It's called M.A.T. and this is what it looks like from the outside. That my little chicken on the big sign :)

The copper lamps are such a great detail in the store.

The little piggy for "Köttmästeriet" is mine, also there's a cow on the other side.

There was a paper printed for the bread boxes were they had combined some of my illustrations (and some of their own).

My photograph of Kärnan in Helsingborg, color reduced and then pampered a bit by another illustrator.

This illustration isn't entirely mine but also another illustrators. It always gets a little messy in an ad agency. You do a sketch, then an illustrator continoues, and then suddenly when you have the finished work the client wants it to look more like the sketch. So I change the original. Then it's hard to say who's done what in the end.
